Your\/your parents&#8217; hard earned money may make you the laughing stock of the world).<\/p>\n<div>Thumb rule: If your rear\u00a0 spoiler is more than a few inches taller than boot\/roof and looks like clothes can be dried on it and still does not have anywhere near as much horsepower as a spaceship:\u00a0 YOU ARE OVER DOING IT. You have enough warning from all websites ridiculing &#8220;show but no go&#8221; \/ &#8220;rice rockets&#8221; .<\/div>\n<div><!--more--><\/div>\n<p><strong>Safe modifications <\/strong>that can be done at any time by the dealer or by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">reputed<\/span> independent vendors anytime after you purchase a new or used vehicle:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adding\/upgrading ICE (Head units, in-dash\/flip down\/headrest mounted displays, speakers, sub-woofers, tweeters etc)<\/li>\n<li>Upgrading headlamps\/adding fog lamps<\/li>\n<li>Adding alloys &amp; changing to tubeless tyres<\/li>\n<li>Up-sizing\u00a0tyres(when done correctly)<\/li>\n<li>Sun film<\/li>\n<li>Vinyl stickers\/paint jobs<\/li>\n<li>Central locking\/power windows<\/li>\n<li>Remote locking( easier to do if the vehicle already comes with central locking)<\/li>\n<li>Security systems<\/li>\n<li>Remote starter<\/li>\n<li>Backup sensors, alarms, cameras<\/li>\n<li>Air filters<\/li>\n<li>Spoilers and <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Body kit\" rel=\"wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Body_kit\">body kits<\/a>(stock)<\/li>\n<li>Sunroof<\/li>\n<li>Upgrading Horns (within legal limits)<\/li>\n<li>Adding cloth\/leather seat covers \/re-upholstering the seats\/changing to racing style seats<\/li>\n<li>Changing to sports steering wheels (smaller in size etc) (not advisable if your <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Automobile\" rel=\"wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Automobile\">car<\/a> has driver side <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Steering wheel\" rel=\"wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steering_wheel\">steering wheel<\/a> mounted airbags)<\/li>\n<li>Portable fridges\/coffee warmers<\/li>\n<li>Central Armrests\/ consoles<\/li>\n<li>Interior fake wood\/carbon fiber\/chrome type finishing<\/li>\n<li>Door pads\/roof upholstering<\/li>\n<li>Sports type pedals<\/li>\n<li>Gear knobs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Though these are considered &#8220;safe&#8221; modifications &#8211; if done carelessly they can damage your vehicle and also void\u00a0the warranty. You would have been better off buying a costlier car which would give you most of the features you have added on and in addition have the comfort and peace of mind that comes with a <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Original equipment manufacturer\" rel=\"wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Original_equipment_manufacturer\">OEM<\/a> backed warranty and service network.<\/p>\n<p>Have I covered this in sufficient detail and covered the usual accessories and modifications?
